Focusing on children with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorders, Marti spoke about levels of functioning and techniques to motivate and encourage appropriate communication, play and problem solving skills in an individual setting using Floor Time Techniques as described by well-known Autism specialists, Dr. Stanley Greenspan and Dr. Serena Wieder.  Social Interaction skills, goals and techniques are discussed with program suggestions for implementation.

Understanding the Characteristics of Autism
Understand the characteristics that fall under the Autism Spectrum Disorders.  Learn why communication and interactions are difficult for these children, their unique sensory needs, and how they are trying to communicate with us through their behaviors.

Six Functional Levels and Floor Time Therapy Techniques
Develop tools to get the best results and interactions from the Autistic child.

Social Interaction Techniques
This is one of the most important and overlooked areas to be addressed in children with Autism.  Gain skills of determining the level at which a child is functioning as well as techniques to provide interactions with the child and his/her peers.

Developing an Individual and Social Interaction Therapy Plan
Using the techniques and tools learned, you will plan individual and social interaction goals for a child you are currently working with.
